Project Green is an incredible opportunity for NOMAD Films and Global Action Plan Sweden to work together with filmmakers to educate and inspire others about ways in which they can create more efficient and globally friendly projects. While we hope to accomplish a great deal via Project Green, below are our main objectives for this debut competition:
- To challenge film and video makers to incorporate sustainable film and video making practices into storyline and production;
- To encourage and create dialogue between filmmakers, industry professionals and experts, and an audience of peers and fans, through this very blog, as well as via open discussions taking place before and after the October 2011 screenings;
- To utilize the internet and the many possibilities it presents to call for proposals, track participant progress and project production, share finished works, and stream audio and video recordings from related screenings, panel discussions, workshops and events;
- To create ongoing dialogue on sustainability in filmmaking and provide resources for practicing – and curious – film and video makers;
- To gather data that can be used to further enhance the development of sustainable filmmaking and all that might entail, and to create a master list of realistic and proven methods for a sustainable production
- Ultimately, to diminish the gap between sustainable practices and everyday life through the participating film and video makers’ examples and the resulting works and developed guidelines
